Foundation grants DIA with $10,000 to support and promote student arts
The Annual Detroit Public School Community District Student Exhibition represents the longest continuous partnership that the Detroit Institute of Arts has with any educational organization. During the 86th Annual Exhibition, artworks created by students throughout the District’s K-12 schools will be prominently displayed in a world-class, professional exhibition.
Free with museum admission, the community can view paintings, prints, drawings, photography, ceramics, videos, jewelry, and more, both online and in person on the museum’s first floor Wayne and Joan Webber Education Wing.
“This grant is designed specifically to support the tremendous work that the DIA performs on behalf of our student artists,” explains Kerrie Mitchell, DPSF’s President and CEO. “These funds will help produce a photobook and virtual video of the exhibition, as well as a number of costs related to the promotion, installation, transportation and execution of this exhibit. We’re incredibly proud of this partnership, and the opportunity that we’re able to provide to Detroit’s young artists to see their creations on display at what was recently named as the Best Art Museum in the US.”
