Thank You From Dr. Price

When I stepped into the role of president at the DPS Foundation in October 2012, I did so with the expectation that it would be a temporary assignment. Now 3½ years later I am saying good bye to employment, and saying thank you to everyone who participated, in any way, in the progress that we have made during this time.

Over these years we have purchased technology for multiple schools, paid for hundreds, if not thousands, of buses for field trips, funded master classes, supported professional development for teachers, helped to ensure after school programming, assisted in fulfilling the district’s goal of reintroducing sports in the K-8 schools, and so many other projects. You will find the array of grants made to schools, teachers, non-profits, and DPS central administration on our website.

We could not have accomplished any of these things without you, our donors and supporters. You have recognized the importance of this work, and thus contributed in many ways. I have been grateful for your donations, words of encouragement, ideas, and engagement. You have helped to make my time at the Foundation enjoyable and meaningful.

As we look at the future, I ask that you support my successor, Pamela Moore, at least as well as you have done me, if not better. The work continues to be worth doing. The need is as great as ever. The children deserve our attention and our commitment to ensuring that they receive a high quality education.

It has been my honor to have had this opportunity to serve. Thank you for helping to make this capstone to my career so pleasurable.
