DPSCD Foundation Recognized as 2026 Corp! Magazine Salute to Civility & Inclusion Honoree

The Detroit Public Schools Community District Foundation has been recognized as a 2026 Corp! Magazine Salute to Civility & Inclusion honoree, celebrating the Foundation’s work to bring people, partners and resources together to expand opportunities for Detroit students.

The Foundation was recognized during the 2026 Salute to Civility & Inclusion Awards celebration, with Past Board Chair Beth Correa and Board Member Kwame Simmons accepting the honor on behalf of the organization.

For the DPSCD Foundation, the recognition reflects a commitment that extends across its work: building partnerships that help ensure Detroit students have access to the resources, experiences and opportunities they need to thrive.

“Creating meaningful change for students requires all of us to come to the table,” said Kerrie Mitchell Campbell-Mabins, President & CEO of the DPSCD Foundation. “Our role is to build bridges between our schools and the people, organizations and resources that want to see Detroit students succeed. This recognition is a reflection of that collective work and of the partners who continue to believe in what is possible for our students.”

From expanding college and career pathways and strengthening student health and wellness to advancing literacy and creating new learning experiences, the Foundation works alongside DPSCD and its community of supporters to address needs and create opportunities across the District.

That collaborative approach has helped the Foundation grow its reach while keeping students at the center of its work.

“This honor speaks to the kind of organization we are continuing to build: one that understands the power of bringing different voices, perspectives and sectors together around a shared purpose,” said Dr. Darienne Hudson, Chair of the DPSCD Foundation Board of Directors. “Detroit’s students deserve a community that is fully invested in their success, and the Foundation is helping create the partnerships and momentum necessary to turn that commitment into action.”

The Corp! Magazine recognition comes as the Foundation continues to deepen its partnerships and expand its support of District priorities, including college and career readiness, literacy, student wellness and innovative learning opportunities.

The Foundation extends its appreciation to Corp! Magazine for the recognition and to its Board, partners, donors, supporters and the entire DPSCD community whose collaboration makes the work possible.

Together, we are creating greater opportunities for Detroit students and building a stronger future for our city.
