Cass Tech Alumna Melissa Butler Raises the Lip Bar

We’re thrilled that Cass Tech graduate Melissa Butler’s cosmetic business, The Lip Bar, recently raised nearly $7m in seed funding! Once rejected by The Shark Tank, Butler has gone on to expand her dream of inclusive beauty products that center different complexions and skin tones. Originally founded in 2012, The Lip Bar is now sold nationwide in stores such as Walmart and Target, and Butler plans to use the funding to expand the team, products, and availability of The Lip Bar around the country.
