The phrase doing well by doing good aptly describes what happens when you dine at one of the restaurants supporting DPS students. During the month of June, several local establishments are providing a portion of their proceeds to the Detroit Public Schools Foundation on a special day. In doing so, these restaurants are demonstrating their commitment to the success of our young people.
Monies contributed to the Foundation provide many opportunities for expanding the learning options for DPS students. The core school budgets do not always have sufficient flexibility to fund field trips, master classes, music lessons, upgrade computer software, add science lab equipment, etc. These donations and others to the DPS Foundation help to fill that void.
